Carol Quint: Statement
I work in a process that involves creating, recycling and reconstruction. The content and function of these works reflect both a sense of time past and time present, qualities that are in the nature of a relic.
I am fascinated with memento mori and symbols that elicit recognition on an unconscious level. My images become surrogates for a broad range of emotional experience. I am responsible for building a sculpture or creating a setting for all of my photographs. In doing so, I create the climate that enables my subjects, be they animate or inanimate, to mirror my point of view.
Currently, I am fusing photographs with three dimensional elements.
My new portrait series is called "Women in Bone Headdress" .
